Here&#8217;s what that looks like in practice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We sponsor <strong>7 Key Clubs, 1 Builders Club, and 1 Aktion Club<\/strong> \u2014 giving young people across Huntsville real leadership experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We award <strong>over $10,000 in scholarships<\/strong> to local students every year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We organize and host the <strong>Madison County Spelling Bee<\/strong>, connecting students across the county in healthy academic competition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our <strong>Phonics Phone Project<\/strong> delivers literacy tools to ESOL students in Huntsville schools, backed by a $2,000 Service Project Grant from the Alabama District Kiwanis Foundation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Through our Foundation, we support multiple local community service organizations every year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>None of this happens without people who care enough to show up.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We meet 40 times a year \u2014 20 in person at the <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/4M1V7FZsbzPMvNjYA\">Elks Lodge on Franklin St SE<\/a> and 20 via Zoom, at community events, or at luncheons. There&#8217;s a format that fits any schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our meetings also feature outstanding speakers from local business, civic leadership, and service organizations \u2014 all doing remarkable things for children in our community. We sat down with these students over lunch \u2014 heard about their goals, their plans for their clubs, and the enthusiasm they&#8217;re bringing to Dallas. Each received a $500 check to help make the trip possible. We can&#8217;t wait to hear what they bring back.
